HISTORY

  • On April 6, 1986, Pima was established in the city of Hermosillo, Sonora, with the main corporate purpose being the manufacturing and marketing of all types of chemical products.
  • Purchase of 2,500 m² land in the Hermosillo Industrial Park where the first warehouse and office was built.
  • Installation and start-up of an iron-free aluminum sulfate plant, built on the previous land.
  • Purchase of our first 2 pipes to transport sulfuric acid and consolidation of the company as an important distributor.
  • On September 27, our subsidiary company Transports Pima, S.A. was established. de C.V., acquiring its first two units from Pima
  • Purchase of another adjacent land and expansion of our facilities on Calle de las Galaxias to 5,000 m².
  • Purchase of another neighboring land and new expansion of our facilities at Calle de las Galaxias 25 to 7,000 m², which is the current surface area.
  • Acquisition of a 10,000 m² land in the city of Mexicali where the construction of the offices and warehouses that we currently have begins.
  • Construction on its own 2,000m² land, located at Calle de los Cometas 12, Hermosillo Industrial Park, of a mechanical workshop with the headquarters of the company Transportes Pima, S.A. of C.V.
  • Construction and start-up of an industrial grade ammonium hydroxide plant at the Galaxias 25 facilities.
  • Acquisition in the city of Culiacan of a 20,000m² land where we have built an office and warehouse.
  • Construction and start-up of our first sodium hypochlorite plant at the Galaxias 25 facilities.
  • Encouraged by the success with the Galaxias 25 sodium hypochlorite plant, in 2004 we built a chlorine packaging and sodium hypochlorite production plant on Calle del Plomo 45, on our own 15,000m² land. These facilities have a railway spur with 2 tracks and 2 electrical substations.
  • We sold to Industrias Químicas del Istmo of the CYDSA group, who are producers of soda and chlorine, the chlorine packing plant and sodium hypochlorite producer that we had built the previous year on Calle del Plomo 45. We built and put our plant into operation of calcium nitrate at the Galaxias 25 facilities.
  • We acquired a 15,000 m² land at Calle del Cobre 20, where we built our current headquarters, warehouses and railway spur.
  • We acquired a 184,316 m² plot of land at Km. 25 Carretera Obregón Navojoa, Fundimiento, Sonora, where we have offices and warehouses.
  • We expand our warehouses in the Mexicali and Culiacan branches.
  • We built and put into operation our iron-free liquid aluminum sulfate plant at the Cobre 20 facilities.
  • We expanded our calcium nitrate plant at the Galaxias 25 facilities.
  • The project for the granulation of calcium nitrate and new application of the liquid calcium nitrate plant begins.
  • Opening of the Bajio branch, at Calle Norte 3 No. 110, Ciudad Industrial de Celaya, Guanajuato. With extensive facilities for the storage of solids and a tank area for the storage of liquids.
  • Opening of the Guadalajara branch, on a 7,000 m² plot of land with a warehouse, offices and tank area on Calle Oro Grande No. 300 in Col. Solidaridad, Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.
  • Opening of the Chihuahua branch on Av. Pacheco and Vías del railroad s/n, Col. El Mármol, Chihuahua, Chihuahua.
  • Opening of the Monterrey branch on the Monterrey – Saltillo highway No. 2000 in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.
  • Start-up of our granular calcium nitrate plant with an installed capacity of more than 18,000 tons per year.
  • Opening of the Laguna branch in Circuito Santa Rita # 12, Santa Rita Industrial Park, Gómez Palacio, Durango, Mexico and expansion of the Chihuahua branch in Calle 55 # 8407, Col. Aviación, Chihuahua, Mexico.
  • Preparing our projection to the United States market, PIMA CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS, LLC was founded with an office at 1370 N Industrial Park Drive, Nogales, Arizona 85621. Monthly exports are maintained.

2018

  • A second and new location linked to the Culiacán branch is opened with a solids warehouse, liquid storage tank and railway spur in the municipality of Aguaruto, Sinaloa.

2019

  • We acquired an 8,454m2 land with a warehouse, located on Highway No.15 in San Miguel Zapotitlán, Ahome, Sinaloa. Extensions and adaptations were made to this property to establish our Los Mochis branch there.

2020

  • After several years of planning, work and engineering development, our plant for the manufacture of Nitric Acid was launched. Raw material that is integrated into the production process of liquid and granular calcium nitrate.

2022

  • Committed to the environment and taking advantage of the benefits of the Sonoran Desert, a 250 kW solar park with more than 1,000 m2 of solar panels is installed in our production plant in Hermosillo.

2024

  • Following our vision of producing world-class fertilizers in Mexico for the Mexican countryside; Our CAN-17 production plant is launched.

2025

  • We continue working to maintain the dynamism and leadership that have characterized us in recent decades, maximizing the efficiency of our processes, quality and service that allow us to be the optimal supplier for our clients.
